Still some time left for shopping and filling up my tote bag.
Kusadasi is a travel destination for Turkish citizens as well as visitors from other countries.  Its location along a lovely bay and its mild climate are an escape from colder weather in northern parts of Turkey.
We followed Mert (he knows his food)to a small waterside restaurant where they brought the raw fish over for us to inspect for freshness.  Years ago, I had fresh anchovies and have been looking for them ever since.  This was the place! I couldn't believe it!  Fresh anchovies taste completely different from the canned, salted fish we buy in the U.S.

The end of our trip has finally come and our last dinner together was bittersweet.  Sharing places and adventures of these past days together had made us comrades.  We knew that even though we'd tell our travel stories to friends and family at home, no one but this group would fully understand our experience.  We miss you all and hope we'll meet again - maybe on another Rick Steves' tour!
